I went on Mintel to find out about their company profile and information about future ideas:
Headphone makers tapping into fashion conscious consumers
Headphones have become an unlikely fashion statement. Boosted by sales of smartphones such as Apple Inc.'s iPhone as well as portable music players, headphones are increasingly becoming an extension of peoples' personality, which means fashion conscious consumers are increasingly prepared to pay for certain brands to stand out from the crowd.
Leading fashion companies, such as Isetan in Tokyo, have begun selling high-end headphones alongside designer garments. Swedish headphone designer Molami recently began selling its products, which include $450 leather headphones, in a number of upmarket fashion boutiques.
Big-name consumer electronics companies are also launching headsets aimed at tech-savvy fashion consumers. Inspired by the Tokyo and New York skateboard culture, Sony's new line-up includes brightly coloured and zany-patterned headphones.
Headphone and headset sales were up 34% in Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Russia, Italy between 2010 and 2011.Company Profile:
